Floyd Glass was a teacher for many years in the south part of the county. Wanting to leave a legacy for Southwood High School students, Floyd Glass created a scholarship in his will in 1977 for students who not only excelled academically but who showed ability as leaders in their school and their community. Mr. Glass passed away in 1986 and soon after, Glass scholarships began to be awarded. Mr. Glass had a dream of helping students get a college education and become the leaders of tomorrow. Financial need as well as scholastic and leadership ability will be considered.
