This scholarship will be awarded to students of the 8th grade at Wabash Middle School who are enrolled and participating in the Community Foundation's Early Award Scholarship program and who have shown strong attributes of self-reliance and resilience in the face of difficulty or life's challenges. The student selected in a particular year may not necessarily be the strongest academically or athletically but is one who shows strength of character and perseverance. The scholarship selection committee will also consider the student's traits for leadership, compassion, kindness, work ethic, and loyalty to WMS/WHS. The scholarship will be awarded into the recipient’s Early Award Scholarship Fund at the time of selection. Each recipient will forever be known as "A Rock Scholar."
