Randy Thrush was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. He loved to tell jokes and riddles, work on the family farm, cheer on Purdue, and participate in his children and grandchildren’s activities. A gifted trumpeter, Randy played in the Peru Circus Band, Swampwater Stompers, Wabash Community Band, and Soul Shot. He lived out his faith in everything he did and accomplished.

To remember Randy and foster a love and appreciation for music for all people in Wabash and Miami Counties, his family created this endowment to provide grants to charitable music organizations in perpetuity.

Specifically, grants are awarded to charitable organizations that meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Located in Wabash or Miami Counties
  • Primarily supports bands, choirs, or orchestras with a preference for, but not limited to the following organizations listed in no particular order:
    • Peru Circus Band
    • Wabash Community Band
    • Northfield Jr/Sr High School Band
    • Wabash Area Community Theater Orchestra
    • Wabash County Honors Band and Choir

Permissible uses of said support include but are not limited to purchasing music, equipment, and instruments, repairing instruments, providing music education and workshops, and supporting community performances. The fund should not be used to support individual music lessons or organizations’ general operating expenses.
