Viv Simmons devoted his life to supporting the education of young people. He served as Manchester High School Principal, Superintendent of Manchester Community Schools, and Superintendent of Schools for Benton County on the western side of the state. This North Manchester Citizen of the Year was a great believer in the ability and potential of students. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide support to a graduate of Manchester High School who has demonstrated in school and community life an outstanding performance in scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Manchester High School graduate (current year)
  • Full-time student pursuing a four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited institution
  • A minimum GPA of 8.0 on an 11.0 scale or the equivalent
  • Traditional students only
